Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Candovo. By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use the app.

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using Candovo (the “App”), you accept these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Candovo, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. The App is not for use by anyone under 13.

3. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by Apple’s Standard EULA for App Store-licensed applications. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or sublicense the App except as permitted by law.

4. Bring-your-own-key (BYOK) AI

Candovo Premium does not include AI analysis costs. To use AI insights, you provide your own Google Gemini API key. You are responsible for:

  • Complying with Google’s API terms and any applicable usage policies.
  • Any costs Google charges for usage on your key.
  • Keeping your API key secure.

In practice, Google’s free tier should cover typical journaling use. We don’t guarantee that.

5. AI output disclaimer

AI insights in Candovo are generated by third-party large language models. They can be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. They are NOT clinical assessments, diagnoses, treatment recommendations, or medical advice. Use them as journaling prompts. Don’t make decisions about your health based on them.

6. Not medical advice; not a clinical service

Candovo is a personal journaling tool. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you have a health concern, talk to a licensed clinician.

7. Subscriptions

Candovo Premium is billed through Apple. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel via Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Refunds are handled by Apple under their standard refund policy.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Misuse the App or interfere with its operation.
  • Use your Google API key, via the App, in ways that violate Google’s terms.
  • Use the App for clinical decision-making about yourself or anyone else.
  • Attempt to access another user’s account or data.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that AI output is accurate or reliable. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain warranty exclusions; in those, the exclusions apply to the maximum extent permitted.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Candovo and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of your use of the App. Our aggregate liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or USD $100, whichever is greater.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time from within the App (Settings → Delete Account).

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the App will be resolved by binding arbitration in Wilmington, Delaware, under the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules. You and Candovo waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action. You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of first accepting these terms by emailing info@candovo.com with the subject line “Arbitration Opt-Out”.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We’ll change the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, show an in-app notice. Continued use of the App after a change is your acceptance of the new terms.
